Tampines – GreenLeaf
HDB Type: Standard
Pros: Nearby MegaMalls, Ghufran Mosque, Sports Hall, Bike Trails, 5KM away from parents
Cons: No childcare centre, Nearest Expressway is TPE/SLE, expressway to PIE is quite far, high demand latest application received after 2 days is 1400, Surrounded with High Rise Buildings.
HDB Grants: HG ($10K) + AHG + Near Parent Grant ($40K) + 4 chances for balloting (near parent)
Distance From Parents: 13 Mins/5.7KM (Bedok) & 8 Mins/4.3 KM (Simei)
Family Comments: Its nearer to parents and lift the extra travelling distance if there is a need to send our children in future. Surronding view will be block by upcoming high rise residential, natural ventilation maybe compromise. There are two Tampines BTOs and fiancee preferred choice is GreenLeaf.

Pasir Ris – Costa Ris
HDB Type: Standard
Pros: Childcare centre, Nearby Beach, White Sands & MRT nearby. Near Expressway Exit. Less Demand
Cons: Slightly further from parents, nearby expressway & MRT Tracks (Noisy). Quite far from my office which is in Ayer Rajah.
HDB Grants: HG ($10K) + AHG Only
Time/Distance From Parents: 14 Mins/9.9KM (Bedok) & 10 Mins/6.3KM (Simei)
Family Comments: Location wise is good, quite a distant from the next estate. Very near to my relatives. MRT is nearby for Fiancée to travel to Changi Airport as she will definitely find a sit to from Pasir Ris to Tanah Merah for the switch. Amenities such as Malls and eHuB is not far. Our ex Teacher Mr Zainal is also MP for the Ward which might be handy if we need serious assistance in future. Location wise from parent is still manageable via TPE and access to Tampines via Ave 12
Though we manage to get a queue number for the previous BTO in Anchorvale Cove, we have yet to receive confirmation for the selection date. A friend of mine got a similar queue number of 5XX and their selection will be on 13 July which is quite sometime away. So we opting to apply for either one of the location as the balloting result will surely be before 13 July. Who knows we will get a better number for a nearer location? In terms of pricing it is indeed a steep as the price is similar as Anchorvale Cove and it is only a Standard BTO (Flooring/Finishes not included). Fiancee preferred Pasir Ris Costa Ris due to the surroundings which is not pack within High Rise while Tampines GreenLeaf will be surrounded. Only advantage of applying in Tampines is that we will receive additional balloting chances. In terms of floor plans is very much the same template. Dateline to apply is on the 2nd June and we are still keeping our options open.
